The Family Business

The family’s roots in the real estate development business span three (3) generations. Silvery Tersini, Mark and Ken Tersini’s grandfather, started Tersini Construction in Silicon Valley 70 years ago. Ken and Mark’s father, Lou Tersini, was responsible for the development of approximately 16,000 single family homes in Santa Clara County with notable companies such as Citation Homes and Arcadia Development.

Ken Tersini | President

Ken Tersini has been engaged in all facets of real estate development for over 30 years. His experience includes residential, retail and office construction in Northern California. Ken recognized the opportunity for development in downtown San Jose and positioned the Company to help transform and define the City’s landscape. Ken was born and raised in San Jose and attended San Jose State University. Ken Founded The Company in 1988.

Mark Tersini | Principal

Mark Tersini oversees the implementation of the Company’s downtown development strategy and works closely with Silicon Valley cities and its community members to successfully navigate the challenges faced by urban infill development. Mark won Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce “2016 Businessman of the year” Award, and is the former President of the Homebuilder’s Association of Northern California (South Bay Division). Mark joined The Company in 1989.

Shawn Milligan | Partner
Acquisitions, Entitlement


Shawn rejoined the KT Urban team in January 2015. Shawn has a proven executive management track record and over 20 years of experience in the real estate and technology industries. Prior to joining KT Urban, Shawn was Senior Vice President of UCP, Inc., a residential developer (NYSE: UCP), and was a member of the senior executive team that took the company public in July 2013. Previously, he served as Vice President with KT Properties and Land Acquisitions Manager with Duc Housing Partners. He started his career in public accounting with a focus on early-stage technology companies and the venture capital industry. He graduated cum laude and earned a BS degree in accounting at Santa Clara University. He is a former Certified Public Accountant.

 

William La Herran | Chief Financial Officer


Will has over 30 years of experience in finance and real estate industries most recently serving as CFO of CFLD US, a global real estate developer of large-scale mixed-use city development projects, where he was responsible for US capital markets and operations. Prior to CFLD, Will was CFO and Treasurer of UCP, Inc. (NYSE: UCP), a residential developer, where he was instrumental in growing the company from pre-revenue to over $400 MM of annualized revenue and completing an IPO in 2013. At UCP Will was responsible for all of the company’s financing activities (senior debt, bond and equity) as well as designing and implementing a SOX compliant ERP and accounting system and all Board and SEC reporting. Prior to CFLD and UCP, Will worked at several global financial institutions, where he was involved in commercial RE financing transactions totaling approximately $4 billion including approximately $700 million as Lead or Agent bank.
